About the Juniors

Burton and District juniors are integrated into the main leagues and have some excellent young bowlers of both sexes who enjoy the game and are able to compete at all levels within the league. These young bowlers compete for places in the Junior County side where they can be part of a team playing in a full Championship programme playing against other county sides.  The County team is selected on merit from junior players of both sexes who play against each other on equal terms.  

Players also have the opportunity to compete in the Junior Merit competition at local and then national level where they can match there skills against other players of a similar age. There have been many prominent seniors who have taken this route and have later achieved and competed at the highest levels in the sport both at County and National level.
