About the Leagues

There is a thriving ladies leagues operating in the Burton upom Trent area one playing on Tuesday evenings and a second playing on Friday afternoons throughout the summer period. These leagues both provide a high standard of bowling and keen competition in a friendly atmosphere. The Tuesday league is very competitive and comprises several divisions each competing for positions in the overall league structure. League winners have the opportunity to battle it out for the area "Champion of Champions" title held around September each year. Players from the leagues have the opportunity to compete for places in the Burton and District County side which plays against other counties during each season with the aim of becoming the overal County Champions.

Both the leagues welcome new clubs and any applications for league membership should be addressed to the league secretary. All clubs welcome new players and will provide tution and encouragement according to their individual needs; contacts should be made at the club level but if any problems arise the league secretary will be able to provide guidance and advice.
