DEVELOPMENT GROUP PROGRESS REPORT

The Development Group has now decided to concentrate on two initiatives this year, a series of Open or Taster Sessions, and Linking with Secondary Schools.

The first of the Open Sessions will be held at four Clubs, Barton, Belvedere, Etwall and Henhurst on three Saturday mornings, 30^th May and 6^th and 13^th June, with more planned to link in with activities during the schools’ summer holiday. 

Notices of these events have been given to every League Club with a request to display them where non-bowlers can see them and to encourage people of all ages to come and try out our sport.  There will also be some publicity in the local press and on radio to reach as many people as we can.

The aim of linking with Secondary Schools is at the planning stage and more information will be given in due course.

The Group also hopes to have an entry on Facebook in the near future (courtesy of one of our Juniors) and are also investigating ways of encouraging more disabled people to play bowls.
