Text Box: Naz Worthington became the latest bowler to add his name to the list of Stretton Anglesey winners as he lifted this seasons Cooper Cup which was played in dreadful conditions. The first spots of were beginning to fall in during the opening matches and Naz sailed through as the rain got heavier with a 21-6 win against Andy Thompson. In the other games Alan Lewsley battled back to win after trailing 18-10 to beat fellow Winshill bowler Steve Atkin and John Dewey and Brian Smith had a tight game with the Belvedere man just edging through. Naz faired even better in the semi-final against Swad Caths Martin Hicks whilst John Dewey coped better with the increasingly soggy green to beat Alan Lewsley 21-10. The rain eased off a little in the final but Naz continued to master the greeen and the conditions, to somewhat surprisingly given his recent record in local competitions, win the Cup for the first time.
